La provincia de La Romana, is one of the tourist resorts of the Eastern Region of the Dominican Republic. It is located 100 km de Santo Domingo. located west of San Pedro de Macoris, is the province of La Altagracia in the east, the Caribbean Sea, Catalina Island to the south and the provinces of Hato Mayor Seibo and North.

Consists of 3 municipalities: La Romana, Guaymate and Villa Hermosa (Erected as a municipality in the year 2004) and the boroughs of Caleta and Cumayasa. La Romana is the capital municipality.

In La Romana are several tourist hotels in the country, among which is Casa de Campo and the New beach resort Gran Bahia Principe. There is a strong tourism in La Romana, especially in the Saona Island. Next in importance the city of La Romana, Altos de Chavon, the Isla Catalina.
